Amy LePeilbet

Amy LePeilbet, a longtime fixture in professional and international soccer, enters her second season as the Associate Head Coach for the SLCC Bruins.

LePeilbet was instrumental to the success of the Bruins in Fall 2022. She was involved in all aspects of coaching, including implementing the new style of play for the program, and leading individual player development and video analysis. Her tactical knowledge was pivotal in preparing for post-season play including a must-win game against rival Snow College in the Region 18 Tournament. LePeilbet coached three players to NJCAA All-American accolades, including two defenders, Emma Fry and Ella Pierce.

Prior to joining SLCC, LePeilbet was most recently the Interim Head Coach for the Utah Royals in the NWSL in 2020 after serving as an Assistant Coach and Director of Professional Development from 2018-2020. In 2019, she was also the Head Coach for the Utah Royals Reserves where she led the team to the WPSL National Final and earned recognition as the Mountain Conference Coach of the Year. In addition to coaching in the NWSL, LePeilbet has also coached within the U.S. Youth National Team circuit for the U23s, U20s, and U18s. 

LePeilbet’s playing experiences are extensive and well-noted. Most notably, LePeilbet was a standout player for the U.S. Women’s National Team, earning 84 caps from 2004 through 2013. As a stalwart outside back, LePeilbet helped lead the USWNT to gold at the 2012 London Olympics and silver at the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany. Throughout her international career, LePeilbet featured in several of the women’s domestic professional leagues. LePeilbet was selected as the #4 draft pick by the Boston Breakers for the inaugural season of the WPS in 2009, where should play until 2011. During her time with the Breakers, LePeilbet was twice named WPS Defender of the Year in 2009 & 2011.

LePeilbet then joined the Chicago Red Stars in 2013 for the inaugural season of the NWSL but spent the season recovering from an ACL injury. LePeilbet finished her professional career with FC Kansas City from 2014-2015, winning the NWSL Championship back-to-back. In 2015, LePeilbet played every minute of the regular season for Kansas City and was earned another Best XI appearance.

In college, LePeilbet started every match for Arizona State across 74 games. She led the ASU to three NCAA Tournament appearances while becoming a three-time First-Team All-Pac-10 selection and a two-time All-American.

LePeilbet currently holds her USSF A Senior License and graduated from the Arizona State University with a B.S in Sociology.
